MCI DEADLINE WEDNESDAY EVENING

Sign-up deadline for racing at MCI is Wednesday evening! If you are unable to make it to the boathouse by then, please email Tricia (triciam@umich.edu).

UPCOMING SUNDAY COACHED PRACTICES: WHAT TIME?

There is coached practice this Sunday, July 16th (4:30-6pm). However, next Sunday, July 23rd there will not be a Sunday practice, due to post-MCI recovery.

However, we want to know if rowers would prefer a Sunday practice time from 9:30-11:00 AM instead of 4:30-6:00 PM. The later time encounters recreational traffic, fishermen, and it is hot. Please provide feedback to Kate Herrington @ nurseless1@comcast.net by Friday morning and we will make a decision.

MCI PREP WORK DAY

To all members not going to Chicago Chase, this Saturday 7/15/06 we will be getting Bandemer ready for the MCI being held on the following weekend. From 10-2 we will be mowing grass, trimming brush and hauling away junk. Please bring yard maintenance tools: pruners, loppers, pruning saws, rakes, lawn mowers, gas powered weed whackers, etc. Please come for however long you can. No RSVP required!

DONATIONS OF SNACKS NEEDED FOR MCI

The MCI committee is seeking donations of snacks such as baked goods, granola bars, fruit, water bottles, gatorade, and ice for the regatta we are hosting next weekend! AARC offers these items to our guest rowers and spectators in return for a small donation; all money raised goes to support the regatta! Look for a sign up sheet on the bulletin board or if you can't get down to the boathouse, email Margaret (mlhudson17@gmail.com) if you are willing to help!

AARC IS LOOKING FOR MEN'S RACING GEAR TO BORROW!

AARC is going to the 124th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta is full force this summer and we are looking for AARC racing tanks to borrow for rowers (there are uniform rules!). We need MEN'S racing jerseys for members of MRA/UMRT to borrow. If you would be willing to loan your tank to a racer Aug 10-17 it would be greatly appreciated! Men's Large and XL are particularly needed. Please email Margaret (mlhudson17@gmail.com) if you can help us out!

USE AND ABUSE OF AARC EMAIL LISTS

All AARC members are reminded to keep use of the aarc-active email list to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM. We don't want to overwhelm our membership with messages, so we have established the Weekly Email to keep traffic to a minimum. If you have a message that you want to communicate to the membership, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try to include it in the weekly email. Plan ahead and get your messages to me by Wednesday morning; that way it will go out to the whole membership AND go on the website.

If you are no longer interested in receiving AARC emails, please contact Margaret Hudson at mlhudson17@gmail.com to be removed from the server. This instruction is included at the bottom of every Weekly Email. Please DO NOT reply all to be removed, because this just increases the spam load on everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST WINNER

47 members cast their votes for their favorite t-shirt design. With 48.9% of the votes, design A by Rich Griffith won the t-shirt contest. Many thanks to our other designers. --MCI Planning Committee

The July AARC board meeting will take place on Monday, July 17th at 6:30 PM, at Lora Freeman's house. Please notify either me (wmackint@umich.edu) or Sarah (marsh.sk@gmail.com) if you would like to attend and if you have an item that you would like to place on the agenda.

LOST JACKET AT BOATHOUSE

Someone left a blue goretex "Boathouse" shell in the BH over the weekend. Andrew Whelan is holding on to it for safekeeping. If it's yours, you can find his contact info in the member directory.

JULY MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY ATTACHED

The updated AARC July 2006 Membership Directory is now available (and is attached)! With the new monthly payment system, the membership directory will be updated each month, with a new copy made available through the weekly email sent the second Wednesday of each month. Please let Margaret (mlhudson17@gmail.com) know if there are any corrections/additions to be made.
