Swim Test

 

All Youth members and participants must have documentation of a completed SWIM TEST FORM on file to participate in any rowing programs with AARC.   Completed forms should be delivered to your coach/instructor on your first day of participation/class. 


All Adult participants must attest through submission of the Club waiver that they possess the requisite swimming skills to pass the Swim Test.

 

The swim test is to be completed under the direction of a certified lifeguard or American Red Cross certified WSI. 

 

The participant must wear any long-legged exercise pant and T-shirt and:

  • Tread water or stay afloat for 5 minutes.
  • Followed by putting on a life jacket while treading water (if available).
  • Followed by swimming 50 yards (without the life jacket), any stroke, without touching the bottom or using any other support.

       April 26, 2010 @ 8:15pm
       April 28, 2010 @ 8:15pm
       May  1, 2010  @ 3:30pm

$5 fee for YMCA members  

$10 feefor non-YMCA members. 
Money is due at the front deskl prior to swim test.

AARC endeavors to make rowing accessible to the broad community.  Scholarships are available to those with financial need to support participation.  
AARC is a 501(c)3 organization.  Donations made to AARC may be eligible for tax deduction.  Please check with your tax consultant.
