HomeLearning Programs

Ann Arbor Rowing Club offers three different Learn to Row programs, including Learn to Row, Learn to Row QuickCatch, and Learn to Scull.  Please click on one of the buttons above to learn more about the Learn To Row programs offered.

Learn to Row

AARC's Learn to Row (LTR) classes are designed for adults of all ages and abilities with no previous rowing experience. Classes are scheduled throughout the spring and early summer, and are designed to prepare rowers for AARC's Skills Development program. The curriculum focuses primarily upon technique rather than athletic ability, so it is well suited for those looking for an engaging sport with which to become more physically active.  More details!

QuickCatch

Get a brief introduction to rowing with the Ann Arbor Rowing Club's Quick Catch program. These one-time class begins with learning the basic technique on a rowing machine (or "erg") and then moves to the water on our very stable training vessel, The Barge.  From there, you’ll row in an 8-person shell with some experienced rowers.  More details!

Learn to Scull

AARC sponsors an introduction to sculling through a series of intensive and condensed Learn-to-Scull (LTS) sessions during the summer months. Each session is small to afford each student personal attention. These sessions are composed of four 90-minute to 2 hour sessions on a single weekend. LTS prepares you to continue on in AARC's Club Sculling Program. More details!
